Random numbers accelerating electronic-structure calculations [2024/02]

Aaron Altman, Sudipta Kundu, and Felipe Jornada published a paper on Physical Review Letters on a new method to speed up GW calculations combining deterministic and stochastic techniques. This can yield orders-of-magnitude speed ups compared to traditional deterministic approaches, and can be applied to materials of nearly arbitrary dimensionality and dielectric response.
