Johnathan publishes first-author Nature paper on moiré excitons [2022/03]
by jornada on March 14, 2022 11:34 pm
Johnathan, together with collaborators in the Tony Heinz (Stanford AP) and Keshav Dani’s (OIST) groups, published a ground-breaking work involving excitons in twisted materials. Johnathan’s calculations allowed novel time-resolved angle-resolved photo-emission spectrum (TR-ARPES) techniques to directly capture the localization of light-driven excitations in materials known as excitons. Aaron publishes paper on singlet fission on JPCL [2022/01]
by jornada on January 14, 2022 11:31 pm
Aaron Altman, together with Sivan Refaely-Abramson, published the first paper of the Jornada group on the Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters! Singlet fission is a process that allows a photon to generate more than one excited electron, and has the potential to significantly increase the efficiency of solar-cell devices beyond the traditional efficiency of ~23%.… Read more Aaron publishes paper on singlet fission on JPCL [2022/01]

Dionne, Heinz and Jornada receive Keck foundation award for excited-state chemistry [2021/12]
by jornada on January 20, 2021 11:20 pm
Traditionally, chemical reactions take place in the electronic ground-state, i.e., when the electrons are occupying the lowest-energy configuration. In this scenario, one only exerts “broad brush” macroscopic control of the reaction by varying the temperature and concentration of the various gases. Prof. Jornada, together with Profs. Dionne and Heinz, were selected by the Keck foundation… Read more Dionne, Heinz and Jornada receive Keck foundation award for excited-state chemistry [2021/12]
